Harrow School of Gymnastics required a complete pit refurb with new pit padding, pit base foam, loose foam logs, pit socks and wall padding. UK Gym Pits were on hand to provide a full refurbishment of their sunken pits within the timescales we were given. The club were closed for a major building overall including new reception area, restaurant, toilets, changing rooms etc. and it was decided that the landing pits would benefit from an overall as well.
Once the old pit foam and padding were removed we got to work installing the new padding to the inside walls of the main pits, u-pit and trampoline pit. The new padding included our top edge and internal wall padding (see our website here) which protects the users if they come into contact with the pit sides/edges. The pit base foam (see our website here) was installed next, the foam blocks had been pre-cut to size so installing them was quick and easy. There were varying depths of base foam due to the varying depths inside the sunken pits as well as the equipment dismount requirements.
We supplied loose foam logs (see our website here) and pit foam socks (see our website here), these were installed at a later date due to the club fitting the socks onto the foam logs themselves. As with all our loose foam bocks or logs, we work out exactly how much you will require to either replenish or fill your pit completely. Our loose foam blocks and logs come in a variety of sizes, colours and densities to meet you requirements.
Wall padding was installed to critical areas around the trampoline and dismount areas to provide safety to the users come into contact with them. The wall padding was 2.1m high, 15cm thick and was mounted using top fixings and Velcro attachments so removing or replacing them would be quick, easy and cheaper than traditional wall padding.
